English
isn't always hard work. Sometimes it can be fun! One fun part of
learning a language is learning idioms. An idiom is a phrase that might
sound silly, but has some meaning other than what it says.
One common English idiom is "as cool as a cucumber". It means "calm and relaxed".
Here, the word "cool" means "calm", not "cold".
Example:
A: Are you nervous about your IELTS test?
B: No! I have studied hard. I am as cool as a cucumber.
